BSB60 Non-Absorbent Surface Nanocoating is an advanced solution formulated with SIO2 and solvent-based compounds to provide superhydrophobic and oleophobic properties. It is specifically designed for high-density ceramic, stoneware surfaces, as well as polished and unpolished marble and granite.

Performance & Testing

The product features advanced technical properties, beginning with its superhydrophobic nature, which ensures superior water repellency. Its durability is proven through rigorous testing, including a significant reduction in damage from freeze-thaw cycles as validated by the DIN EN 12371:2010-07 standard over 100 cycles, as well as high resistance to frost and de-icing salts in accordance with TL Pflaster-StB 06 for the same duration.

Regarding permeability and moisture control, the material maintains excellent water vapour diffusion according to DIN EN ISO 12572:2001, while water absorption levels have been strictly determined following the CSIRO BEST-2:1998 protocol. Structural integrity is further supported by its resistance to salt attack, verified under the AS/NZS 4456.10:2003 standard, and notable abrasion resistance measured via Taber abrasion testing in compliance with ASTM C1353:1996.

The long-term performance of the treatment is confirmed by artificial weathering tests using Xenon arc lamps according to DIN EN ISO 4892-1:2006 for 550 hours, simulating five years of environmental exposure. The product has a shelf life of at least 24 months when stored in a sealed container; once opened, however, it is recommended that it be used within 6 months to maintain its performance.
